SOLARBUDDY

  • SolarBuddy is a global impact organization committed to tackling extreme energy poverty, a widespread issue affecting over a billion people who lack access to safe, reliable, and affordable electricity. This challenge has profound effects, undermining health, education, and economic stability while also damaging the environment. For instance, without electricity, children cannot study after dark, families turn to harmful alternatives like kerosene, and communities struggle to progress economically. SolarBuddy confronts this crisis with a bold, dual-purpose mission: to distribute millions of solar lights to children in energy-poor regions by 2030 and to educate millions globally about the realities of energy poverty.

Through their efforts, SolarBuddy provides practical solutions by gifting solar lights that enable children to learn, enhance their well-being, and open doors to future opportunities, all while reducing reliance on polluting fuels. At the same time, their awareness campaigns seek to build a worldwide understanding of energy poverty, encouraging collective action. By merging direct aid with education, SolarBuddy addresses both the immediate needs of affected communities and the broader systemic issues. Driven by the enormity of the challenge, they unite a global community to illuminate children’s futures and foster a more sustainable, equitable world.

SEABIN FOUNDATION

  • The Seabin Foundation is committed to improving ocean health by preventing marine plastic pollution through education, data analysis, science, and community engagement. Using Seabin technology, the foundation aims to "turn off the tap" to plastic pollution before it enters waterways, recognizing that cleanup efforts alone cannot solve the crisis.

The Seabin City Programs and the Ocean Health Microplastic Lab play a crucial role in gathering and sharing this data.

To further awareness, the foundation offers STEM-based excursions and lessons for all age groups, teaching students about the impact of marine pollution and how Seabins help clean harbors and waterways.
