  • This week, we’re exploring a novel letter-writing technique focusing on rhetorical questions to captivate our readers. Imagine penning a letter to an influencer like Greta Thunberg, utilizing questions to spark deeper engagement.

This method not only enhances the reader’s connection to the message but also bolsters students’ independence and writing skills, especially in crafting thoughtful, provocative questions that demand attention.

We’ve provided a sample letter that exemplifies this approach. Use it as inspiration to encourage students to formulate questions that challenge the reader to think critically and empathetically about global issues.

Encourage your students to experiment with this technique. How might posing questions in their letters lead to a more impactful understanding and response from the reader? Let’s find out by giving it a go and seeing the difference it can make in our advocacy efforts.

This week, we’re taking a new approach to writing letters: we’re going to use questions to make our letters really stand out. Think about writing a letter to someone like Greta Thunberg but using questions to make it more interesting.

Why do we use questions in our letters? Can asking questions make someone like Greta Thunberg think more about what we’re saying? In my letter, I’ll use questions to talk about how important it is to help every child. This way, the person reading it really starts to think about the message. It’s like having a chat through our letters, making the message stronger.

When we add questions to our letters, it’s like we’re talking directly to the reader, getting them to think and maybe even agree with us. How can we write our letters to make someone as important as Greta Thunberg take notice?

Check out the example letter we’ve got for you. It uses questions just like we’ve been talking about and is a great model for your own letters. Let it inspire you to ask questions that really make the reader think.

As you get ready to write your own letters, think about this: How can using questions in your letter make someone really understand and care about helping children everywhere?

Go ahead and try it! See how asking questions can make your letter more powerful.
